The Cement City Historic District in Donora, Pennsylvania, comprises 80 Prairie School concrete residences built in 1916–17 to house employees of the American Steel and Wire Company. The homes were poured-in-place using a newly patented method from the Lambie Concrete House Corporation, and their construction required a combined 10,000 barrels of Portland cement. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996, many of the original houses still stand as private residences.
