Charenza, also known as Karentia, Karenz, or Gharense, was a medieval Slavic burgwall—a fortified settlement—located on the island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea, in what is now Germany's Western Pomerania-Rügen District. It served as the administrative centre of the Rani tribe and of the Principality of Rugia. Today, its archaeological remains are identified as Venz Castle, or Venzer Burgwall in German.
