Charles Bridge is a Gothic stone arch bridge over the Vltava river in Prague's Old Town, Czech Republic. Construction began in 1357 under King Charles IV, with Peter Parler attributed as architect, and the bridge was finished in the early 15th century. Built as a bow bridge of 16 arches, it stretches 516 metres and is lined with statues, all now replicas of the originals erected around 1700.
