The Château d'Anet stands near Dreux in the Eure-et-Loir department of northern France. Philibert de l'Orme built it from 1547 to 1552 for Diane de Poitiers, mistress of Henry II of France, on the site of a former château. It is especially noted for its exterior, including the Fountain of Diana, a statue of Diane as goddess of the hunt, and the Nymph of Anet, a relief by Benvenuto Cellini above the portal. Its garden, centred on the façade, was among the first Italianate parterres in France, laid out under Jacques Mollet.
