The Château d'Écouen stands in the commune of Écouen, about 20 km north of Paris, and is a notable example of French Renaissance architecture. Built between 1539 and 1555 for Anne de Montmorency, Grand Constable of France, it has housed the collections of the Musée national de la Renaissance since 1975. Jean Bullant and Jean Goujon are associated with its design.
