The Château de Falaise stands in the south of the commune of Falaise in the Calvados département of Normandy, France. Its present structure dates from the 12th and 13th centuries, on the site of an earlier castle where William the Conqueror was born around 1028. King Philip II of France captured it in the 13th century, it changed hands several times during the Hundred Years' War, and it was abandoned in the 17th century. It has been a protected monument historique since 1840.
