The Château de Langeais stands on a promontory above the Roumer River valley at the opening to the Loire Valley in Indre-et-Loire, France. Founded in 992 by Fulk Nerra, Count of Anjou, it was rebuilt under King Louis XI (1461–1483) in the Flamboyant Gothic style and is especially noted for its monumental, highly decorated chimneypieces. Owned today by the Institut de France, it is a classified monument historique open to the public.
