The Château de Montsoreau stands in the market town of Montsoreau in the Maine-et-Loire département of France, built directly in the Loire riverbed at the confluence of the Loire and Vienne. Reconstructed in Flamboyant Gothic style between 1450 and 1460 by Jean de Chambes, a senior councillor and chamberlain to Charles VII and Louis XI, it now houses the Château de Montsoreau-Museum of Contemporary Art, and parts of it are listed as monuments historiques.
