The Château de Valençay stands in the commune of Valençay in the Indre department of France, within the historic province of Berry. Its Renaissance architecture invites comparison with the Loire Valley châteaux, notably Chambord. It was a residence of the d'Estampes and Talleyrand-Périgord families, and George Sand praised it as "one of the most beautiful on earth."
