The Château de Vitré is a medieval castle in the town of Vitré, in the Ille-et-Vilaine département of France. Built in stone from the end of the 11th century by Baron Robert I of Vitré on a rocky promontory above the Vilaine valley, it was rebuilt in the first half of the 13th century by André III in its present triangular form, following the contours of the rock and surrounded by dry moats. It is a classified historical monument.
