The Cheatham County Courthouse stands in Ashland City, Tennessee, and served as the original seat of county government after the county was founded in 1856. Completed in 1869 for $12,000, its two-story brick building is in the Greek Revival-Italianate style. An early-1900s addition by Robert E. Turberville extended the southwest side and gave the main facade a portico with Ionic columns. The courthouse, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, still houses the county courts and general sessions.
