Chumbe Lighthouse stands on Chumbe Island in the Malindi ward of Mjini District, Mjini Magharibi Region, off Zanzibar Island in Tanzania. Built in 1904, it burned acetylene for its light until 2013, a process automated with a sun valve since 1926. It now runs on a solar photovoltaic system.
