The Church of Saint-Sulpice is a Baroque Catholic church on the east side of Place Saint-Sulpice in Paris's 6th arrondissement, and it is the second largest church in the city. Construction of the present building, the second on the site, began in 1646. Its architects include Christophe Gamard, Daniel Gittard, Giovanni Niccolò Servandoni, Gilles-Marie Oppenord, Jean-François Chalgrin and Louis Le Vau. The church is known for an 18th-century gnomon and its Great Organ, one of the most significant in the world.
