The ruins of the Church of San Martín de Tours stand in the old village of Belchite in Zaragoza, Spain, as a Mudéjar structure built in 1560. Destroyed during the Battle of Belchite, the church was left in ruins on Franco's orders as a "living" monument to the conflict. Now designated a bien de interés cultural and protected as a national monument, the remains testify to the devastating impact of the Spanish Civil War on the region's architectural heritage.
