The Church of St. Gertrude stands in the Old Town of Kaunas, Lithuania, tucked just off Laisvės alėja (Freedom Avenue) and reached through a gate at a nearby hotel. It is one of the oldest Brick Gothic churches in the country. Built as a churchyard chapel on the site of a former burial ground, its exact construction date is unknown, though it likely dates to the late 15th or early 16th century. In 1503 Grand Duke Alexander designated it a parish church of Kaunas.
