The Church of St. Johns, located in Vilnius's Old Town and dominating the Vilnius University ensemble, is a brick baroque structure designed by architect Johann Christoph Glaubitz. Dedicated to St. John the Baptist and St. John the Apostle and Evangelist, the church served as a spiritual and intellectual center for the Jesuit Academy, where professors and students gathered for prayer while theologians delivered sermons. Beyond its religious function, the building hosted academic disputations, thesis defenses, and royal receptions, making it a vital venue for both ecclesiastical and university life.
