The Church of St Michael and All Angels stands in the remote village of Hamstall Ridware, Staffordshire, reached by a quarter-mile pathway through pasture land west of the River Blithe. Founded around 1130–1150 in the Norman period, the church was substantially rebuilt in ashlar sandstone during the 14th and 15th centuries, combining its original Norman foundations with later medieval masonry. Now Grade I listed, it remains an important example of rural ecclesiastical architecture spanning the Romanesque and late Gothic periods.
