Clarke Mills, a textile factory in Jackson, Alabama, exemplifies Moderne industrial architecture of the Depression era. Designed by H.B. Bieberstein and completed in 1939, the building was built for and long occupied by the Vanity Fair Corporation. The facility's streamlined Moderne aesthetic reflects the optimistic industrial design language of its time, even as it served the practical needs of textile manufacturing. The structure was recognized for its historical significance when it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
