The Château du Clos Lucé, formerly the Manoir du Cloux, stands in the centre of Amboise in France's Indre-et-Loire department. Built in 1471 by Hugues d'Amboise in the Flamboyant style, it is a classified historical monument. Francis I gave it to Leonardo da Vinci in 1516, and he spent his last years there until his death in 1519. Since 1855 it has operated as a museum of his life and work.
