The Co-Cathedral of St. Alexander stands in Kyiv, Ukraine, as a Latin Catholic co-cathedral in the Neoclassical style, designed by Ludovico Stanzani. Begun in 1817 to commemorate Tsar Alexander I's visit to Kyiv, it was consecrated in 1842 on a cruciform plan with a dome at the crossing. Closed under Soviet rule and used as a planetarium, it was renovated after communism's fall and became the co-cathedral of the Diocese of Kyiv-Zhytomyr.
