The Congressional Club, a Beaux-Arts clubhouse designed by George Oakley Totten, Jr., stands at 2001 New Hampshire Avenue NW in Washington, D.C.'s U Street Corridor. Founded in 1908 as the official club of congressional spouses—the only such organization ever incorporated by an act of Congress (HR22029, passed by the Sixtieth Congress)—the building has hosted an annual luncheon honoring the First Lady since 1912, a tradition that remains the club's largest annual event. The structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
