Conisbrough Castle is a medieval fortification in Conisbrough, South Yorkshire, England, first built in the 11th century by William de Warenne, Earl of Surrey, after the Norman Conquest. Hamelin Plantagenet and his son William later rebuilt it in stone, raising its 28-metre keep, whose circular central tower with six massive buttresses is considered unique in England. The castle is a Grade I listed scheduled monument, now operated as a tourist attraction by English Heritage.
