Built in 1938, the Coraopolis Armory in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania exemplifies the Moderne architectural style through the work of designer Thomas Roy Hinckley. Located at 835 5th Avenue, the building was constructed to replace an earlier armory that had been floated downriver, and was transferred to Pennsylvania National Guard custody that December. Today it serves as headquarters for the 28th Signal Battalion's Headquarters Company and was recognized for its historic significance when added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
