Courcelette British Cemetery, designed by the renowned architect Herbert Baker, was established in 1916 in Courcelette, a village in the Somme region of France. Maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, the cemetery reflects Baker's architectural approach to commemorating the First World War dead, whose graves it preserves from the brutal fighting that characterized the Somme campaign.
