Crane-Phillips House
Cranford, United States

Exterior only
Visible from the street; the inside is private.
The Crane-Phillips House stands at 124 N. Union Avenue in Cranford, Union County, New Jersey, a Victorian cottage in the style of Andrew Jackson Downing, the first American architect. It is now a museum run by the Cranford Historical Society and is listed on both the New Jersey Register of Historic Places and the National Register of Historic Places. Its second owners, the Phillips family, tie the house to late nineteenth-century invention: Henry J. Phillips, a Civil War veteran, is credited as one of the first inventors of the modern kitchen hood.
