Croydon Airport was the United Kingdom's main international airport during the interwar period, in what was then Surrey and is now Greater London. Its Neoclassical permanent terminal opened in 1928, and the site was home to Imperial Airways, Britain's first national airline. The airport closed in 1959, but its terminal building survives as a Grade II* listed building.
