The Cathedral of Cusco, formally the Cathedral Basilica of the Virgin of the Assumption, is a Catholic minor basilica in Cusco Province, Peru, and seat of the Archdiocese of Cusco. Built from 1559 in the baroque style, it stands in the northeast sector of the Plaza de Armas, on the site of Inca structures including the Suntor Wassi. Together with the Triunfo temple it forms the cathedral complex, and it is part of the historic centre that UNESCO designated a World Heritage Site.
