Daci'en Temple, a Buddhist temple in Yanta District, Xi'an, Shaanxi, was built in 1466 and represents a significant site in East Asian Buddhist scholarship. The temple is renowned for housing the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, originally constructed under the supervision of the monk Xuanzang, whose travels to India became legendary through the novel Journey to the West. During the Tang dynasty, Daci'en Temple served as one of three major sutra translation centers alongside Daxingshan Temple and Jianfu Temple, establishing it as a cradle of Yogācāra Buddhism in China. Today it holds status as a National Key Buddhist Temple in Han Chinese areas.
