The Dansereau House, a historic mansion at 506 St. Philip Street in Thibodaux, Louisiana, represents the evolution of nineteenth-century domestic architecture in the region. Built between 1845 and 1847 for James A. Scudday, the original first floor was designed by architect Henri Thiberge in the Italianate style. After the Civil War, the property was purchased by the Canadian Dansereau family, who commissioned a second floor addition in 1875 under the ownership of Dr. Hercules Dansereau. The structure is distinguished by its Second Empire roof, a hallmark of the period's French-influenced aesthetic. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1978, the house was later converted into a bed and breakfast in 2010 under owner Damon Baldone.
