Dayr-e Gachin Caravanserai stands in the centre of Kavir National Park in Iran, roughly 80 kilometres northeast of Qom. Originally built in the Sasanian era, it was restored and reconstructed under the Seljuks, Safavids and Qajars, and its current form dates from the Safavid period. It follows the Persian four-iwan plan across about 12,000 square metres, with four circular corner towers, and is built of brick, lime, adobe and plaster. It is part of the Persian Caravanserai World Heritage property.
