De Bijenkorf in Rotterdam is a modernist department store completed in 1957, designed by Abraham Elzas and the renowned architect Marcel Breuer. Built from schokbeton (a textured concrete technique), the structure exemplifies mid-twentieth-century commercial architecture with its bold, sculptural form. Recognized as a Rijksmonument, the building stands as a significant example of postwar Dutch modernism and remains an important retail landmark in the city's urban fabric.
