Dernancourt Communal Cemetery Extension in the Somme department of France is a Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery designed by Edwin Lutyens, the renowned British architect who created the iconic architectural language for British military burial grounds during and after the First World War. The cemetery extends an existing communal burial ground, reflecting the massive scale of casualties from the Somme offensive and other conflicts that necessitated the establishment of numerous war cemeteries across northern France.
