The Dolmabahçe Mosque is a baroque waterside mosque in Kabataş, in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district, close to the Dolmabahçe Palace. Commissioned by Queen Mother Bezmialem Valide Sultan and designed by the Turkish Armenian architect Garabet Balyan in 1855, it was completed under Sultan Abdülmecid after her death. It is known for twin minarets and huge stone arches on its facades, pierced by large windows that light the interior. Road-widening later removed its original courtyard and sebil.
