Donnington Castle is a ruined medieval castle in the village of Donnington, just north of Newbury in Berkshire, England. Founded in 1386 by Sir Richard Abberbury the Elder, it was later bought by Thomas Chaucer and taken under royal control in the Tudor period. During the First English Civil War the royalist Sir John Boys held it through an 18-month siege, and after the garrison surrendered Parliament voted to demolish it in 1646. Only the gatehouse survives; the site is a scheduled monument under the care of English Heritage.
