Doune Castle is a medieval stronghold near the village of Doune in the Stirling council area of central Scotland, sited on a wooded bend where the Ardoch Burn meets the River Teith. Originally built in the 13th century, it was rebuilt in its present form in the late 14th century by Robert Stewart, Duke of Albany, and has survived largely unchanged. Its surviving northern and north-western ranges include a tower house over the entrance and a separate kitchen tower, linked by the great hall. It is now maintained by Historic Environment Scotland.
