Downside Abbey is a former Benedictine monastery at Stratton-on-the-Fosse, Somerset, England, and the senior community of the English Benedictine Congregation. Its Gothic Revival Abbey Church of St Gregory the Great, begun in 1873 and left unfinished, is Grade I listed; Nikolaus Pevsner called it a splendid demonstration of the renaissance of Roman Catholicism in England. The community left in 2022, and the monastic buildings are largely vacant.
