The Dr. Havilah Beardsley House stands in Elkhart, Indiana, a two-story, rectangular brick dwelling in the Italianate style. Built in 1848 by Havilah Beardsley, founder of the city, it has a medium-pitched gable roof and a full-width front porch with fluted Ionic columns, rounded openings, and decorative brackets. Later one-story, flat-roofed wings flank the main block. Operated as a historic house museum within the Ruthmere Mansion complex, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
