Dunguaire Castle is a 16th-century tower house on the southeastern shore of Galway Bay, near Kinvara in County Galway, Ireland. Its name derives from the dun (fort) of King Guaire, the legendary king of Connacht. The 75-foot tower and its defensive wall were restored in the 1980s. The castle has been closed to visitors since 2023, when its owner, Shannon Airport Group, offered it for sale to Galway County Council, which declined for lack of funds.
