Dunster Castle stands on a steep hill called the Tor in the village of Dunster, Somerset, England. Begun as a timber motte-and-bailey castle after the Norman Conquest, it was later remodelled into a country house, with Anthony Salvin reshaping it in the 1860s and 1870s to suit Victorian Gothic and Picturesque tastes. Given to the National Trust in 1976 by the Luttrell family, it is a Grade I listed building and scheduled monument.
