The Dutch pavilion in the Castello district of Venice is a national exhibition building designed by Gerrit Rietveld and completed in 1953 to showcase the Netherlands's artistic contribution to the Venice Biennale. As a work by one of the twentieth century's most influential modernist architects, the pavilion reflects Rietveld's distinctive design principles while serving as a permanent venue for Dutch artists participating in the renowned international arts festival.
