East India House was the London headquarters of the East India Company, in Leadenhall Street in the City of London, from which much of British India was governed until 1858. The Company first occupied the Elizabethan mansion Craven House in 1648. The building was completely rebuilt in 1726–29 and remodelled and extended in 1796–1800, and it was demolished in 1861. The Lloyd's building now stands on its site.
