The Eastern Columbia Building is a thirteen-story Art Deco landmark at 849 S. Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles, designed by Claud Beelman and opened on September 12, 1930, as the headquarters of the Eastern-Columbia Department Store. Its "melting turquoise" terra cotta facade and four-sided clock tower, granted an exemption from the city's 150-foot height limit, make it a familiar sight across downtown.
