The El Cortez Hotel stands at 239 W. 2nd Street in Reno, Nevada, an Art Deco hotel built in 1931 by real estate investor Abe Zetoony and designed by Reno architects George A. Ferris & Son. Seven stories tall and decorated with low-relief terra cotta, it was the tallest building in Nevada until Reno's Mapes Hotel was completed in 1947. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
