Elmwood Place is a historic farmstead near Irwin, in the southwestern corner of Union County, Ohio, along State Route 161. Its six buildings occupy about 9 acres. James Fullington, one of the county's most prominent landholders, bought the open fields in 1858 and began building the farm, finishing the brick farmhouse in 1861. The farmhouse shows Italianate details such as cornices and arched windows and doors. Well preserved, the farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
