The Emily Dickinson Museum in Amherst, Massachusetts, is a historic house museum preserving two adjoining houses: the Dickinson Homestead, the poet's birthplace and home from 1855 to 1886, and the Evergreens, built by her father Edward Dickinson in 1856 as a wedding present for her brother Austin. The Homestead is a National Historic Landmark and part of the Dickinson Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.
