The Escuelas Aguirre, located at Calle de Alcalá, 62 in Madrid, is a Neo-Mudéjar style school building constructed between 1881 and 1886 by architect Emilio Rodríguez Ayuso. Built with funds bequeathed by Spanish philanthropist Lucas Aguirre, the structure exemplifies Moorish Revival architecture characteristic of late nineteenth-century Spain. Rodríguez Ayuso subsequently designed an enclosure in 1887 and a garden completed between 1896 and 1898. The building underwent further modifications by architect Luis Bellido González in 1908–1909 and again in 1929, followed by additional alterations and a basement extension by Antonio Flórez Urdapilleta and Bernardo Giner de los Ríos in 1932–1933. Since 2006, the building has housed the Casa Árabe, an institute dedicated to Arab and Islamic studies.
