The sculptures of Plaça de Catalunya, in Barcelona's Eixample district, were created between 1927 and 1929 for the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition. A public competition in 1927 selected 28 works by artists including Josep Llimona, Frederic Marès and Pablo Gargallo, making the ensemble one of the largest public art collections in the city. It holds urban protection and is part of the cultural heritage of Catalonia.
