Built in 1956 and located within what is now the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park near Mission San Jose, the Ethel Wilson Harris House exemplifies Modern Movement and Wrightian architecture. Designed by Robert Harris, the two-story structure encompasses approximately 2,000 square feet of frame, stone, and concrete construction, bearing resemblance to a Usonian house. The residence was home to artist and conservationist Ethel Wilson Harris, who supervised Arts & Crafts projects for the Works Progress Administration in San Antonio and created tile murals displayed on the San Antonio River Walk. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its architectural significance, the house was documented in the Historic American Buildings Survey.
