The Europa building in Brussels' European Quarter, on Rue de la Loi/Wetstraat, is the seat of the European Council and the Council of the European Union. Its Art Deco façade dates from the 1920s Résidence Palace and has been listed since 2004. It combines this with a contemporary design by Philippe Samyn and Partners and Michel Polak. Its lantern-shaped structure, which houses the main meeting rooms, serves as the official emblem of both councils.
