The ruins of Bedevaartskapel stand in Vrouwenpolder near Veere in the Netherlands, remnants of a brick Gothic chapel that once served as a site of pilgrimage. The excavated remains preserve evidence of the architectural tradition characteristic of northern European Gothic design executed in brick, a practical building material widely used in the Low Countries where stone was scarce. Though reduced to archaeological remains, the site documents the religious life and construction practices of medieval Vrouwenpolder.
